Ramadan 1436 A.H./2015 Activity Book Coming Soon In'shaa Allaah!

Very soon in'shaa Allaah, The Big Book of Ramadan Activities for grade 1 students will be posted on A Muslim Child Grows Up.


The book contains over 100 pages of Ramadan Themed Activities and will help children learn about the blessed month of Ramadan in a fun, productive way in'shaa Allaah.

The Five Pillars of Islaam: A Kindergarten Workbook

May Allaah reward the sister who contacted me and asked about a resource for the Five Pillars of Islaam! This mini-workbook is a bit different from the others available here on the blog. This mini-workbook is designed to be a miniature notebook that can be bound or stapled at the top and children can flip it open and start their journey to learning about the Five Pillars of Islaam. The book is also easy to assemble: just print the book, cut along the dotted line in the middle of each page, and staple or bound at the top! Done!

Inside, children will find a brief introduction to each pillar but please be aware that it is not intended that these introductions can or should be read and understood by children independently. The introductions are there to initiate a discussion between child and educator in'shaa Allaah. 

Children will also have fun working with beginning sounds, learning about the number five, playing a memory/concentration game, solving a secret message, racing to do a good deed, and more!

When I was looking for a game to compliment the masjid sight word book, Smart Ark had just the game, but imagine my delight when, browsing around the site, I came upon these lovely dolls. The dolls are made using a hand loom and the dolls are dyed with environmentally friendly dyes. Beautiful, environmentally friendly, and safe in'shaa allaah!

Games for Children Between the Ages of 1 - 4

Alhamdulillaah, there are many beautiful, well-made toys for young children. These toys have the potential to keep children engaged for substantial amounts of time and they provide crucial learning that aides in development. Today, in'shaa allaah, some will be presented here, and later, craft ideas and activities that cost little or no money will be posted, that children will enjoy in'shaa allaah.  

The first toy is a Junior Ramp:



Children between the ages of 1 1/2 - 3 years old may enjoy sending the different colour cars down the ramp numerous time while they engage in imaginary play. 

The second and third toys, a Wooden Triangle Stacker and a Wooden Square Stacker give children between the ages of 1 1/2  - 3 years old the ability to practice developing their hand-eye coordination. 






The next toy is Small Wooden Stacking & Nesting Bowls, Natural

Young children will spend time learning about size and sequencing and they will also work on fine motor skill development. 

The last toy is a Little Lock Box:
This wooden box has compartments where children can hide objects and toys, it provides pincer-grip practice, and it helps children practice their coordination and manual dexterity skills. Plus, it is very attractive!

Toys such as those presented in this post teach children essential fine motor, hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity skills, and they also have the potential to provide children will quality play that lasts for a sustained period of time.

Quick Post: Islaamic Sight Words Book: Masjid

Alhamdulillaah, here is the fifth book in the Islaamic Sight Words Series, and this book is getting children prepared for the blessed month of Ramadan! When children accompany family to the masjid for taraweeh, they will, in'shaa allaah, recall the learning they engaged in with this mini-workbook.




The instructions for all activities are included in the mini-book, however, if you have any questions about any of the activities, please leave a comment and I will do my best to answer as soon as possible in'shaa allaah.

After children have completed the Islaamic Sight Words book, they might enjoy the game Build a Masjid from Smart Ark.  

 

In this game, children will work together to build a masjid and they also have the opportunity to work on their math skills. The game emphasizes cooperation and helps young children understand the benefit and fun of working together to accomplish a worthy goal. A wonderful resource to use with the Islaamic Sight Words book!
